30 April 2021.....happy birthday Dad.

My dad would have been 82 this year. He didn’t quite make it that far. 54. I’m a little younger than he was. It is weird, I don’t feel old. Or at least to old. I thought my dad was so old when he was 54. I was 19. I was an idiot.

Some ideas

I have my own ideas about how government should operate. I’m sure lots of people would not like my ideas. That’s ok. I can live with that.

No more voting for federal positions.

So, selecting the president.

The President should be chosen by selecting a name randomly out of a bowl that contains the names of all the governors. The state that was last chosen can not be selected again until every other state has had its turn. So no one would serve more than one term.  Every four years there would be a completely new president. After every state has had the opportunity to have its governor become president, the whole process will start over.

The Vice President’s are selected by the president out of the governors. Unless there is a death the Vice President would not become the next president.

House and senate

Each state should have a drawing based on the state representatives. Two people are chosen at random to work in the senate. Six year terms are still good.

Representatives

The mayors and city council people for district have all there names placed into a bowl and one name is chosen at random. Then, instead of two year terms the term is for three years.

Now, all the people selected wanted to work in some sort of politics anyway. It’s just by chance that they were selected to work at the federal level.

So maybe federal politics won’t be such a “fancy” idea.

Each state is responsible for paying its own senators or representatives. The President and Vice President can be paid by the federal government. They would get the same as Supreme Court justices.

The federal government is to important to be left to people that want to work only at that level.

At the present time I do not see a happy middle ground being found. The cynic in me says we need to divide into tribes so to speak. Democrat areas and Republican areas. You can move freely anywhere but any given area may be a Republican or a Democrat area. In a small way the current system of Gerrymandering already does this. I say we make it more pronounced. Have one president for the Democrats and a second President for the Republicans. Every state would have 4 senators, 2 for republicans, 2 for democrats. Each congressional district would be designated a Republican or a Democrat district. Then only one party can vote in that district. You can still live anywhere you want but Republicans can only vote in Republican districts. Democrats can only vote in  Democrat districts. If a person wants to vote they have to live in the district of the party they belong to.  I have lots of fun ideas.

We live in such a stupid world right now. There are lots of things I don’t like but I still will fight for a person’s right to do them. Some things I think are as wrong as the day is long. But that doesn’t mean it should be made illegal. It can be a very fine line that is walked.

Are electric cars better? Doubtful.

Is the air quality better from electric cars? Questionable.

All electric cars do is separate a person from the pollution that is made.

You personally aren’t doing the polluting. Someone still is polluting and you are benefiting from what someone does. How is oil produced? How are batteries for electric cars produced? Not to mention everything that is in most cars.

I find electric cars and solar panels fascinating, but they are little more than virtue signaling at this point in time. After every house has solar and  electric car batteries don’t require strip mining, then it might be worth it.

Honestly, the best thing in many ways would be nuclear.

It lasts for years and it is only a problem if there is an major accident. It’s not like there is a nuclear accident every week, month or year.

All I can say is🙄

21 April 2021....are we having fun yet?

In a nutshell I see to many things going to hell in a hand basket.

Still that’s life now. Apparently some people like it.

I bought a car from a specific dealership years ago. Apparently it had lug nuts that need a special “key” to take them off and put them back on. I was never given the “key” to get the wheels off and on. I have been stuck for the past few years with lug nuts that I had no way of changing myself. I am beyond lucky that I didn’t end up in a far away area and have a problem. If you get a new car make sure that it has standard lug nuts.

I bought another car from the same dealership.  I got a loan from the dealership. Bad move. I should have got a loan from my credit union. The credit union offered me a loan at 15%. I checked the website for the loan the dealership sold me. 24%. I have a crappy credit score thanks to my ex-wife. I will gladly show you my credit report to show you why. I still feel like I got raped by the dealership that sold me the car and the loan.

I sold cars for for a while. If the dealership doesn’t get you on the front end when they make the deal on the car, the backend during the part where you get the loan will get you. Ugh. I got got.

One place that I love is Jiffy Lube. It’s down the street from where I live. The communication the last time I went was not the best. Still I realized after, that the service I got went above and beyond. I was stuck in my wheelchair in the car for a while. Still I was very happy.

I love having short hair again. It doesn’t get pulled when I put my shirt on. I’m able to go about life in a more pleasant manner.

Having a beard also makes life more pleasant. It helps keep the face warm in the cold and cool in the heat. Applying beard oil, a must, is easier than shaving. I can wash it and comb it out and that is so easy. If you can try it you should.

My cat has claimed my wheelchair as her own. The other day I had to use it for a while. She did not want to move. I almost sat on her because she would not move. That’s life with a cat.

12 April 2021.....so now I’m beautiful.

I hate crossing the street I have to go through this muddy area all the time. Ugh. No fun.

So I am looking at Facebook and just flabbergasted by much that is on there.

Memories aren’t bad.

Some friends I barely know.

Some complaining about president Trump. I want that kind of power. The man has been out of office since January. Wow.

People getting the corona virus shot. Whatever. I’m of the opinion if I die I die. Life will go one for everyone that isn’t dead.

People running for city elections.

Complaining about minimum wage.

Meme about being an idiot.

Family vacation pictures.

Technology to help stroke patients. Hey,  that’s me.

Friends pictures from overseas.

Albert Einstein meme.

Question about the type of car I have.

Soap advertisement.

Portuguese/Brazilian stuff I don’t understand. I even read it twice.

Lightning photo.

This is just a little bit. There is more on Facebook than is worth looking at. I feel like I have been dividing my time between scrolling aimlessly though Facebook and trying to numb life by watching to much TV.

But I decided to get a hair cut today. It was about time. I have no idea why I was letting my hair grow. I’ve been in kind of a dream world for a while.

So me before my haircut

Me now.

3 April 2021.......I stayed up to late last night

So just a few thoughts right now.

I have had this clock since high school. It still works. I just don’t change it for the vile daylight savings. It’s always on standard time.

Award shows like the Oscars, Emmy’s, and Grammy’s are to politicized. They have become worthless. The only award show should be for shows that got a lot of money, or suckered lot of people to watch and got a lot of money before word spread that the film was pathetic.

Culture appropriations. I have a hard time believing that is even a thing. If I like something from a culture I will use it. If I don’t like something I won’t use it. I will say there are some awesome ideas when I was in Korea.

Gender pay gap. Not a thing. If I were to hear about someone paying a woman less simply because she is a woman, I would raise hell to high heaven.

The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies are good. The books are better.

We live in a world that mostly values entertainment and escapism more than anything else. Most people escape into their TV at home. Theater is basically dead, except for those few that care to leave their house for entertainment or those that are willing to spend big bucks to go to live theater. Arts are extremely beneficial especially in K-12. After high school they are a nice thing to have. In fact I would say essential.

Still minor in business.

The one thing that everything has in common is business.

Art business.

Education business.

 Medical business.

 Automobile business.

There are differences. Still the common denominator is business.

Are there aliens?  Maybe. There are lots of things that can’t be answered “logically” or in the politically correct way.

Is time travel possible? Maybe. Lots of weird things out there.

Gun control is easy. If you don’t want a gun, don’t buy one. If for some reason you get shot and don’t die, I will offer to help.

Is corona virus a thing? Probably. Still not as bad as some people thought it would be. The bodies aren’t piling up in the street waiting to be picked up or burned. In fact overall it’s been a pretty nice pandemic. Reason to stay home is easy to find. If you want to get out of any obligation to help anyone you can always blame the virus. Its kind of like why I decided to have a stroke. That way I would have the perfect excuse to get out of people’s request to help them move. In a nutshell that’s how I would say corona virus is.

In all seriousness if I die I would hope people are sad for a week or so. Then, you have to get back to life. I was talking to my oldest son the other day. He is about the same age I was when my dad died. I finally came to the conclusion, after I was helped and prodded along, that life goes on. It has to or we would all be living in a pile of or own filth.

I may joke about death and dying but only because everyone pays that price that is born.

Now I will say I am a few years younger than my dad when he went. But I’m trying. I might equal him in longevity. Maybe I will make it as long as my grandpa or heaven forbid my grandma.
